Sunny day. In front, a black cute hairy dog showing the tongue. Her name is Cocholate. In the back, a brown skin person smiling and wearing sunglases. She is Silvia.

I am a Central American creative thinker and digital enthusiast. Some of my interests are language, territory, politics, gender, and technology. I am related to two feminist communities of practice, Indisciplinadxs and Geochicas.

Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate in the track of Hispanic Sociolinguistics at the Program in Latin American, Iberian, and Latino Cultures (LAILAC) and a Digital Fellow at CUNY Graduate Center. At this institution, I obtained a Certificate in Interactive Technology and Pedagogy. I am working on a digital dissertation intertwining linguistic geography and feminist linguistics.

Before moving to the United States, I obtained a bachelor’s Degree in Spanish Philology and a Master’s degree in Linguistics at the University of Costa Rica. There, I researched institutional language policy for the use of gender-fair language and worked with the Center of Research and Studies on Women on the topic. Additionally, I taught language courses to national and international students and proofread academic journals.
